PEA unit enters solar power system distribution deal
PEA ENCOM International Co on September 21 announced its collaboration with Fah Chai Engineering, a provider of solar power systems, to offer such systems via its PEA Shops nationwide, focusing on customers of its parent, the Provincial Electricity Authority. PEA Encom, a state enterprise, has been authorised by the Cabinet to proceed with its investment plan both domestically and internationally with a budget of Bt6 billion for production of a total of 500 megawatts of electricity. Acting managing director Punlop Pinyowiwat said that initially PEA ENCOM would focus on solar farms, for which it has set a target for total installed production of 50-100MW next year, up from 35MW currently.
